The 2013 New York Auto Show was supposed to be the staging ground for the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro SS, but the V-8 Camaro was dramatically upstaged. Chevrolet introduced a surprised assembly of media to the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, leaving many to forget about the SS altogether.

Chevrolet is looking to differentiate its V-6 and V-8 models, and some of that comes in the way of styling, including a hood extractor—which is also functional—and allows for air cooling of the bigger V-8. There are also several Camaro ZL1 inspired elements, including a new lower opening grille, a metallic bar to accent the grille, and a functional fog lamp on the RS package. In back owners will notice new LED taillights, and now thanks to the aforementioned Z28 debut, Chevy is offering Recaro sport seats on the SS and ZL1 models, as well. You can check out the short video below to get all the details from Fitzpatrick.
