Thread of the Day: Why Did You Get the Car You Have Now?
There are many reasons why we drive the cars we do. Many enthusiasts have to consider need and budget when shopping for a car. Some are fortunate enough to buy a car that meets their wants. Others buy a car based on looks or image.
Motor Trend forum member Fenris said he bought a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette because he wanted something aesthetically appealing, V-8 powered and rear-drive, as well as being easy to work on and modify. With his “somewhat shabby” Corvette being 30 years old, it was cheaper to purchase and restore while saving money on taxes and with less worries about emissions. He dropped a 383 cubic inch small-block Chevy stroker in it for more power than the factory mill.
Fenris wants to know why others got the car(s) they did. Was it because of the car’s looks, or driving experience? Did price play a factor in your decision? Share the reasons for getting the car you have in the comments below, on today’s Thread of the Day!
