Thread of the Day: Which New Cars Would Look Best with Lamborghini-Style Doors?

Although most cars offer front-hinged doors that swing out horizontally, there are a few exotic and luxury cars that offer unique door opening mechanisms. For example, the DeLorean DMC-12 and Mercedes-Benz SLS both feature gull-wing doors, while older Lincoln Continentals and the Rolls-Royce Phantom offer rear-hinged suicide doors. But the most recognizable alternative door system has to be the vertical-opening Lamborghini-style door.

We’ve seen these kits on everything from Honda Civics to Chevrolet Corvettes, and recently brought you news of Lambo door kits for the 2012 Chrysler 300 and Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ).

The Toyobaru seems to be one of the best applications we’ve seen thus far, which got us wondering what other new cars would look good with vertical or Lamborghini-style doors. What do you think? Would any vehicles currently on sale benefit from vertical-opening doors, or should that unique vehicle entrance be reserved for more exotic sheetmetal?
