Thread of the Day: 2014 Chevrolet Impala or Refreshed Ford Taurus?

The current Chevrolet Impala is nothing more than a fleet queen that fills rental car lots and police fleets, cannibalizing sales from the Malibu. Chevy hopes to change that with the bigger and more competitive 2014 Impala.

Chevy wants the new Impala to compete with the Hyundai Azera, Toyota Avalon, and what might prove to be its biggest rival, the refreshed 2013 Ford Taurus. To distinguish itself from challengers, the 2014 Impala has lines that Chevy says are subtly reminiscent of the 1967 Impala, with a nose featuring cues from the Camaro.

We found that the Impala was quieter, more controlled, and better handling than the comparable Taurus.

With these two models set to go head-to-head in showrooms, we want to know which one you’d choose. What would sway you toward the 2014 Chevrolet Impala or the refreshed 2013 Ford Taurus? Sound off in the comments below.
