Nov. Compact Crossover Sales: Honda CR-V On Top, RAV4 Slips Below Rogue
The Honda CR-V took the lead in the November sales battle in the compact crossover segment with 22,333 units sold, beating the second-place Ford Escape by a margin of more than 1300. The CR-V edged out the Escape by less than 1000 units during the month of October. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Equinox, with 16,821 units sold, completes the top three.
While there was a pretty sizable gap separating the crossovers in the top-three spots, the battle for fourth and fifth was much tighter. The Nissan Rogue ended November with 12,662 units sold, just 239 more than the Toyota RAV4. As we recently reported from last week’s 2012 L.A. Auto Show, the 2013 Toyota RAV4 is just around the corner and will likely move up the chart. The current model is the most dated in the segment, having debuted back in 2006. The GMC Terrain and Subaru Forester took the sixth and seventh spot with 8158 and 5703 units sold respectively.
