More Motor Trend Video Hosts Reveal Daily Drivers, Fastest-Ever Speed Driven
You already got acquainted with several Motor Trend hosts a couple months ago, but some weren’t available to answer some of your questions because they were out on assignment – most likely driving the latest and greatest. In this new episode of Wide Open Throttle, Jessi Lang rounds up the rest of the MT crew for another up close and personal look with hosts including Jonny Lieberman, Randy Pobst, and Angus MacKenzie.
Although hosts are often seen driving different cars on camera, viewers want to know what they drive off camera. Professional racecar driver Randy Pobst has been behind the wheel of exotics such as the McLaren MP4-12C and Lamborghini Aventador, but when he goes home, he drives and enjoys a Volvo S60 T6 AWD company car. Editor-at-large Angus MacKenzie on the other hand, hasn’t had a daily driver for 25 years since he’s always driving press cars, but he does mention Mrs. MacKenzie rides around in a 2010 Golf GTI, while he’s got a 1967 Alfa Romeo GTV back at home in Australia.
Another burning question viewers have for our hosts is what’s the fastest they’ve ever gone. Most answers are in the 200-mph department, but one host takes this cake when he shares he’s been over 261 mph at Bonneville. The hosts further discuss how they became such car nuts, with Technical Director Frank Markus saying he started evaluating cars at a young age when he used to beg rides home from school with people who had just bought a new car.
