Sports Car/Convertible: Ford Mustang, 9,234 units

With over 9,000 models sold for the first time this year, the Ford Mustang wins the sports car battle with its primary competitor, the Chevrolet Camaro. Ford Sold 8,797 Mustangs last month, and this month’s figures are enough to give it the top spot for a second consecutive month. When we say that auto execs care about these figures for both the balance sheets and bragging rights, that’s never more true than in this segment. And with July 4 at our doorsteps, Ford will take a little extra comfort in winning the battle of the American ponies.
