ZURICH — The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is in the process of being tweaked for European rules and tastes, Chevrolet Europe announced via a YouTube video.
The Corvette Stingray will arrive at European dealerships in late 2013 and do battle with a wide range of European performance cars. The announcement of the start of Corvette’s European offensive underscores GM’s global ambitions for the car.
The testing procedures for the 2014 Corvette are part of the GM standard quality-control program that is conducted for each new Chevrolet model before it goes on sale in Europe. The Corvette will be prepped in a number of ways, including having its navigation system adjusted for European roads.
Patrick Herrmann, the technical manager at Chevrolet Europe, will spend the next few months with the Corvette and will be the first to “thoroughly test the new Stingray in Europe,” the automaker said.
Herrmann will be uploading his observations about the car, as well as images and videos, using the hashtag #C7experience, on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Edmunds says: The excitement is building for Corvette’s European launch.
