2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Front

GM dropped a bomb on everyone at the 2013 New York Auto Show: the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. But if you think this is a return to the mullets-and-heavy-metal Camaros of the ’80s and ’90s, think again. Not only is Chevy re-introducing a fabled nameplate, it’s taking it back to its roots. This is a lightweight, stripped down, ready-to-race special version of the Camaro. There’s no standard air conditioning, no fog lights, reduced sound deadening, thinner glass. Chevy even took out the emergency flat tire inflator. What you do get is a big 7.0-liter V-8 engine, a track-ready suspension, specially designed sport seats, and race-inspired carbon-ceramic brakes.

It’s all wrapped in sheetmetal that’s new for all 2014 Chevy Camaros. The grille is thinner, with narrower headlights. The taillights have been revised as well, and the overall look is more contemporary, but without losing any essential Camaro-ness. Go read more about the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 along with the rest of the cars debuting at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
